Anti Cancer Drug Manufacturing Facility

The facility is one of the first of its kind in the world

Wellesley was initially appointed by a start up drug company to undertake financial due diligence of a scheme to design and construct an anti cancer drug production facility.

This involved us assessing levels of staffing, preliminaries and overhead and profit and resulted in a tender exercise being undertaken that saw substantial savings against the original planned budget.

We then conducted a technical due diligence of various contractor’s proposals in order to establish value for money against technical compliance. The facility, one of the first of its kind in the world, needed to be designed and constructed to very specific technical requirements and that meant that assessments needed to be made of the chosen contractor’s ability to deliver.

We worked closely with the preferred bidder in establishing their deliverability of the Project, and then negotiated a bespoke design and build contract to allow the Project to proceed. We are currently retained as Employer’s Agent, managing the design phase and construction process and acting as the quantity surveyor under the Contract.

The Project is currently under construction and represents an exciting and new phase of our story. We worked closely alongside our Client’s internal Project Team and continue to work with them on other exciting projects.
