A bespoke drug manufacturing facility for biotechnology group

Wellesley has acted as Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent on a bespoke drug manufacturing facility for a private equity backed start up biotechnology group based in the United Kingdom. Our role included due diligence on the commercial and legal aspects of the Project and negotiating the terms of a bespoke design and construct contract based on a JCT 2016 DB Contract.

We also acted as as the project co-ordinator working along side the Client’s internal project management team and fulfilled the role of the Employer’s Agent under the terms of the Contract.

The facility which includes the construction of laboratory facilities and clean rooms will be used for the manufacture of anti cancer drug coagulates and is expected to commence production in late 2019.

We were very excited to be involved in this leading edge project and assist our Client in its fight against cancer.
